On 26th July 2025, African Voices Forum Ltd proudly hosted the second edition of the AVF Youth Olympics at St Paul’s Sports Centre, Bristol, bringing together young people from African and Caribbean communities for a day filled with sports, friendship, and celebration.
The event featured an exciting mix of activities — from football and table tennis to FIFA video game tournaments, and fun-filled classics like the sack race and lime & spoon challenge. More than 200 enthusiastic participants attended, representing a variety of nations including Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, and Nigeria.
In a spirited atmosphere of healthy competition and cultural pride, Team Nigeria once again emerged champions, securing their title for the second consecutive year.
Beyond the games, the AVF Youth Olympics aimed to promote health, wellbeing, and unity among young people, fostering bonds across different backgrounds. Attendees also enjoyed a generous supply of drinks and water to keep them refreshed throughout the day.
African Voices Forum wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Quartet Community Foundation, Common Ambition Bristol, and all other partners, volunteers, and supporters whose contributions made this event a success.
The success of this year’s edition demonstrates the growing impact of the AVF Youth Olympics as a platform for young people to showcase talent, build friendships, and celebrate cultural diversity.
