Community Cohesion Camp Trip

African Voices Forum organised a community camping trip in partnership with Tetina Foundation Trust from the 10-12th August 2012 at St Magdalene Educational centre based in Somerset. The camping trip was organised for a capacity of 86 participants and places were allocated to the AVF membership.

A programme of activities was drawn up from the start to the finish. Responsibility for the various functions was shared out within the steering group. The total number of people who registered was 82 and 70 participated is split below:-

The feedback from all the activities was compiled by the young people who participated in the camping trip.

The aims of the trip were to:

  • Build up capacity within the member organisations and groups.
  • Reduce isolation and social exclusion among black communities, by bringing people together to enjoy the summer period
  • Enable collaborative working between communities
